The main route into Helmsley is the A170 (from A1 and Thirsk). Those arriving by this route come into Helmsley over the bridge, take the first left, and then another left (where they will see signs for DUNCOMBE PARK) very shortly afterwards. Continue over the cattle grid, up the hill, over a second cattle grid, following the road until the main house and entrance gates appear on the left. Turn left onto the short drive up a gentle slope and through the main gates. Park on the gravel at the left hand side of the forecourt.

If coming into Helmsley on B1257 from the Stokesley direction, then come down a the hill into Helmsley, and continue straight (ignoring the brown sign for Duncombe Park), until you see the beck/river below a fence to your left. Keep driving until the road bends sharply left, here turning right into Duncombe Park (where you will see the signs), continuing up the hill and over the cattle grids as per the instructions above.

Those arriving along the A170 from the Kirkbymoorside/Pickering direction should come into Helmsley centre, turning left at the roundabout in the marketplace, driving down Bridge Street past traffic lights, and turning first right (just past Costcutter and Post Office), and then immediately left, into Duncombe Park.
